What damage types does Lootbound have?
Slash, Crush, Acid, Chaos, plus untyped Base. Slash shreds Health, Crush destroys armor, Acid bypasses armor, Chaos enhances debuffs, and Base is the generic hit. Exact multipliers stay TBA.

Lootbound damage types are how a hit meets the two enemy bars: armor and Health. Slash shreds Health once the plate is gone. Crush destroys armor. Acid bypasses armor and hits Health. Chaos enhances debuffs. Base is the untyped leftover that always applies. Lootbound (ArtDock / Dreland Enterprises) never asks you to memorize a multiplier — it asks you to match the next body. A Lootbound damage types page is a matchup chart, not a rarity list. The in-game types pane lists four attack languages — Base, Slash, Crush, Acid — and a fifth lever, Chaos, sits on the same kits as a debuff amplifier. Steam’s store copy talks about armor destruction, armor penetration, exhaustion, and direct damage as build directions. Those are marketing buckets. The pane you click is the five names on this page.
| What you packed | What the hit actually does |
|---|---|
| A Slash cluster on a Warrior | Chews Health after armor is gone |
| A Crush piece on anyone | Tears the armor bar so Slash can work |
| Acid on a Witch | Ignores the plate and chips Health now |
| Chaos on a curse kit | Makes the debuff worth the mana |
| Base on an early weapon | Hits both bars with no special lean |
Sliding one aura cell can flip a Slash neighborhood toward Crush. An unequipped shape is not a type. Pack first: inventory. Neighbor rules: auras.
Companions resolve the type you seated on their own board. A Witch Acid poke is an automatic pip, not a second hotbar. Turn order: combat.
The next section is the chart — five names, one job each.
This is the whole Lootbound damage types chart. Use it when a fight stalls. Treat every “double” or percent you saw on a tooltip as TBA until we log the 1.0 pane — the job of each type is the fact that stays true.

| Type | Hits | Armor interaction | Best when | Pair with | Typical seat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slash | Health | Pays after the plate is gone | Light armor, stripped elites | Crush, or Acid as the skip | Warrior |
| Crush | Armor | Destroys the shield | Fat armor bars, plated elites | A Slash finisher on another grid | Whoever found the crush piece |
| Acid | Health | Bypasses armor entirely | High-armor walls, soak / reflect-style plates | Chaos if you are cursing | Witch |
| Chaos | Debuffs | Does not chip a bar by itself | Curse / weakness / Acid kits | A real kill type on someone | Witch |
| Base | Armor, then Health | No special lean — always applies | Early run, mixed weapons | Any typed add-on | Anyone |
Slash and Acid both want Health. Crush wants the shield in front of it. Chaos wants a status already on the target. Base is the generic hit that works on every body and never wins a specialization contest.
Three Slash grids on a plated elite is three people hitting a wall. Cover Crush or Acid on someone — usually the first recruit. Party jobs: classes.
The chart only pays if you know which bar you are allowed to empty.
Lootbound splits survivability into two layers, and Lootbound damage types only make sense against that split. Most hits eat armor first. Armor fully restores after every fight. Health stays hurt until you heal. Mix those up and a clean trash clear still walks into the biome gate empty.
| Layer | After a fight | What a type does to it |
|---|---|---|
| Armor | Fully restored for the whole party | Crush deletes it. Most other hits spend it first. Acid skips it |
| Health | Stays damaged until a heal | Slash and Acid (and leftover Base) spend this. This is the run |
| Resistance | Does not refill like armor — it taxes incoming hits | Not a damage type. Late enemies hit harder, so the tax matters more |
| Dodge | Inconsistent miss chance | A whiff is dodge, not a bug. It is not a type answer |
Ending trash at 1 armor is fine if you are alive — the shield comes back. Ending trash at critical Health is a run leak. Acid is dangerous in both directions: it skips their plate, and their Acid skips yours.
Going first lets Crush strip a plate before a slasher swings, or lets Acid delete a buffer before it auras the pack. Exact thresholds stay TBA. The habit does not: read the bar, then pick the type.
Once the two layers are clear, the common stall is Slash into plates.
Slash and Crush are a pair, not two clones. Slash shreds Health. Crush destroys armor. A first run that only stacks Slash will tickle plated trash until mana is gone.

| What you see | Click | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fat armor, Slash-only hero | Crush on this click, or wait for the Crush recruit | Slash is paying the shield, not the run |
| Armor already gone | Slash or Base to finish Health | Another Crush spend is a wasted pip |
| Light armor, high Health | Slash now | The plate is not the problem |
| Two bodies, one plate left | Crush first if you act before the slasher | Setup before payoff |
Warrior kits lean Slash, crit, and vampirism. Vampirism pays you for hitting Health, not for tapping armor. If plates keep showing up, the missing type belongs on the recruit — not as a second Slash clone. Lanes: builds.
You do not need Crush on every grid. You need one reliable strip, then a slasher who acts while the plate is down. If you never found Crush, skip the strip entirely — that is Acid’s job.
Acid is the other answer to the same wall.
Acid bypasses armor and deals damage directly to Health. That is the in-game line, and it is the whole reason a Witch exists. Use it when the shield is the fight, not when the shield is already gone.
| Situation | Acid | Crush then Slash |
|---|---|---|
| Plated elite, no Crush on the party | Yes — this is the skip | You cannot start this plan |
| Reflect / thorns-style soak on a high-armor body | Yes — the bounce never sees your Health the same way | Risky if your own armor is the soak |
| Armor already stripped | No — you are skipping a bar that is gone | Slash / Base finishes |
| Debuff Witch with Chaos seated | Yes — Acid plus curse is the kit | Leave Crush on the other grid |
| Opening trash, preview already kills | No — bank the mana | Basic / Base is enough |
You still spend the run resource on their side. A long Acid fight that never kills still leaves your Health open. Pair it with Initiative so the skip lands before they swing, and with Mana discipline so the biome gate still sees a bar.
Witch kits want Acid, Chaos, and Mana. Do not sprinkle Order onto that board. If the hero is all Slash, the first recruit should be this skip — not a second sword. Roles: classes.
Chaos is why that Acid kit is not just “green Slash.”
Chaos enhances debuffs. It is the offensive twin of Order: Order amplifies heals, armor repair, and blessings; Chaos amplifies curses, weakness, and other negative effects. It is on the Lootbound damage types chart because a curse kit without it is a wet noodle — not because it deletes a Health bar by itself.
| Stat | Amplifies | Seat it on | Keep it off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chaos | Curses, weakness, Acid-adjacent debuffs | Witch | Paladin / Bard Order boards |
| Order | Heals, repair, blessings | Paladin / Bard | A Chaos / Acid board |
Stacking Chaos on a Warrior who never applies a status wastes the cells. The pane has to show a curse, a weakness, or an Acid interaction before Chaos is a damage plan. Exact curse names stay TBA.
Mixing Order and Chaos on one grid is how a “support Paladin” also fails to curse. Split the party: one board blesses, one board hexes. Accessories that touch Initiative / Order / Chaos are the usual seats — treat named pieces as TBA.
The mid-page table is the click, not another definition.
Use this in the fight, after you can name the five types. Situation → action. It does not repeat the chart — it picks the next pip.
| Situation | Type to click | Type to pack next |
|---|---|---|
| Plated trash, hero is Slash | Basic if it chips; otherwise wait for Crush / Acid | Crush or Witch Acid on the first recruit |
| Stripped elite, high Health | Slash / Base | Crit / vampirism contacts — not another Crush |
| High-armor wall, no Crush in the bag | Acid | Chaos if the Witch is cursing |
| Debuff already on the target | The kill type (Slash / Acid / Base) | More Chaos only if the curse is the plan |
| Biome-end Boss Part coming | Whatever covers the Guardian you are building | Do not hand the final boss a crit part if you can see it |
You still only click the hero. The missing language is an automatic pip on another grid. If plates remain and the bench is a second Warrior, you drafted the stall.
Biome-end Boss Parts change how the final Guardian hits. A high-armor party can live with a reflect-style modifier; Acid ignores that soak. Part names stay TBA — bosses.
If the fight still dies, it is usually a process error, not a missing unique.

Scan this before the next node. It is the mid-run checklist for Lootbound damage types — situation to action, not another loop recap.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Slash-only into plates | Seat Crush or Acid on hero or recruit |
| Crush after the bar is gone | Switch to Slash / Base and finish Health |
| Acid into a naked Health bar | You already skipped a door that is open — spend Slash |
| Chaos with no curse | Seat a real status, or drop Chaos for a kill type |
| Order and Chaos on one body | Paladin / Bard = Order. Witch = Chaos |
| Three clones of the hero language | Give the recruit a job — classes |
| Treating Base as a late-game plan | Base is the early all-rounder. Specialize per body |
| Waiting for a companion hotbar | There is none — pack the type, then click the hero |
| Walking in with an unpacked shape | Rotate it or it is not a type — inventory |
| Skipping the Boss Part | You are building the Guardian you will fight — bosses |
Before the first click, name the bar that is blocking the kill. If it is armor, you need Crush or Acid. If it is Health, you need Slash or Base. Two seconds there prevents most empty mana bars at the biome gate.
When that is automatic, the next page is the Guardian those types have to kill.
Slash, Crush, Acid, Chaos, plus untyped Base. Slash shreds Health, Crush destroys armor, Acid bypasses armor, Chaos enhances debuffs, and Base is the generic hit. Exact multipliers stay TBA.
Slash shreds Health once armor is gone. It is the Warrior finish. Dumping it into a full plate is the classic stall — bring Crush or Acid for that bar.
Crush destroys armor. Pair it with a Slash finisher on another grid: one body strips the plate, the other deletes Health. You do not need Crush on every character.
Acid bypasses armor and hits Health directly. It is the skip when you never found Crush, and the Witch’s usual language. Do not spend it after the plate is already gone.
Chaos enhances debuffs — curses, weakness, Acid-adjacent status. It does not replace Slash or Crush. Seat it on a Witch; keep it off an Order board.
Base is the untyped leftover. It hits armor, then Health, with no special lean. Early weapons often mix Base with a typed add-on. It always applies; it is not a late specialize plan.
Your party armor fully restores after every fight. Health does not. Their armor is a per-fight shield; their Health is what you are actually racing. Acid skips that shield.
The shape never sat on the grid, an aura slid the neighborhood off Slash, or you are hitting a plate. Unpack, reseat, or bring Crush / Acid. See inventory and auras.
No. Specialize per body, cover types across the three grids. Three Slash clones stall on plates. Full lanes: builds.
